Most research tools help you find papers or summarise them. Craft helps you figure out what they mean. Turn scattered literature into structured insights, clear gaps, and a well-defined research contribution.
Hi everyone!
We built Craft around a problem most researchers know too well. You can read dozens of papers, take notes, even summarise everything… and still not be clear on one thing:
What is my actual contribution?
Most tools today focus on helping you find papers or summarise them faster. That’s useful, but it doesn’t solve the hardest part of research, making sense of the literature and turning it into a clear, defensible idea.
Craft is designed for that step. It helps you: organise papers into meaningful themes, identify gaps and boundary conditions, and develop a structured research story.
We’ve been developing this with input from academics across Australian and international universities, and it’s been especially helpful for early-stage research, literature reviews, and refining positioning.
If you’re working on anything research-heavy, academic or applied, I’d really love to hear how you approach this part of the process. Where do you find it hardest to move from “I’ve read the literature” to “I know what I’m contributing”?
Happy to answer any questions and keen to hear your thoughts.

Who hunted Craft?
Craft was hunted by Felix Septianto. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
