I built Counsel because small business owners get two kinds of financial advice: dashboards that show numbers without meaning, and AI that confidently makes things up. Neither one tells you when it doesn't know.
Counsel's rule is that every number carries a receipt. Tap any figure and it names its method, its sample size, and its confidence in plain English. And when the evidence is thin, it refuses to call it. Last week I shipped a change where the price-elasticity card now says "the interval includes zero, I can't rule out no effect" instead of projecting a revenue gain it couldn't defend. The receipt was always honest; now the headline can't overclaim it. That rule is enforced in code, not in copy.
Day to day it tells you what you can pay yourself and why that number holds, which invoice to chase first, which weekday is too thin to book anything expensive, and lets you rehearse decisions (a hire, a price change, closing Mondays) against your own history with Monte Carlo, not industry averages.
Under the hood it runs on Aurora, my open-source verification engine that measures its own false-positive rates on synthetic ground truth and downgrades any finding past a disclosed error ceiling.
Honest limits: iOS and web today (Android is web-only for now), bank connections shipped this week, and the cloud Ask feature sends derived figures only, behind a consent card showing exactly what leaves your phone.
The math is free forever. I'd love you to try to break a receipt: find a number that doesn't hold up and I'll fix it publicly.
