Hey Product Hunt! 👋 Travis here, maker of CopyThat. The problem: Every 2–10 truck shop I talked to runs dispatch the same way — a group text. It's free, every tech already knows it, and it works... until it doesn't. Jobs get buried, nobody knows who grabbed what, and the owner spends the day scrolling and calling instead of running the shop. The obvious fix is field-service software, but most of these owners had already tried a big FSM suite and bounced — not because the software was bad, but because their techs flat-out won't install an app, make a login, or sit through training. Ever. What inspired the approach: Instead of fighting that, I made it the whole product. CopyThat is a dispatch board where techs never install anything. You drag a job onto a tech, they get a text, they reply OTW or DONE, and the board updates itself. If a phone can receive a text, it can run CopyThat. How it evolved: I started out thinking the board was the product. That flipped somewhere along the way — the board is table stakes; the constraint is the product. Every feature now has to pass one filter: can a tech do this with gloves on, in sunlight, on one bar of signal, by replying to a text? If not, it lives on the owner's side or it doesn't ship. The other lesson I didn't see coming: half of building a texting product is carrier compliance (A2P 10DLC registration is a journey), so a lot of invisible work went into making that "just works" for shops. Pricing is flat — from $49/mo, no per-seat charges, so you're never punished for hiring. Would love to hear from anyone who's tried to roll out software to a crew that hates software — what actually got adoption? Happy to answer anything. 🔧
