Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Asad, a solo developer from Lahore. I built Statement2Excel to fix something that kept eating my time: getting clean data out of PDF bank statements. If you've ever tried this, you know the pain. Every bank formats its statements differently, tables break across pages, and half the time the file is a scan instead of real text. Most converters either choke on the messy ones or quietly hand back numbers that are slightly off, which is the worst possible outcome when that data is going straight into a reconciliation. So I built it to be careful rather than clever. It first tries exact text extraction, then matches the layout against parser rules for known formats, and only falls back to a vision model for the genuinely messy or scanned files. The whole idea is to not blindly trust an AI with someone's financial data. The feature I'm proudest of is the reconciliation check. After parsing, it walks the running balance and confirms the debits and credits actually add up, row by row. If something doesn't reconcile, it gets flagged on screen before you download, so you catch a bad parse right away instead of halfway through your month-end close.
