And I read a lot too. PDFs, articles, YouTube videos. But at some point it occurred to me that despite all this, I never retained any of the information.
Highlighting was done. Notes have been made. But the understanding? Vanished into thin air. While the world moves in the opposite direction AI summaries, speed reading, "read 50 books a year" trends. Faster, more, optimization.
But faster consumption is not learning. It is just another way of forgetting.
A context byte is the smallest piece of your understanding. Not a summary that somebody else made. Not an AI interpretation. A fragment of knowledge that you extracted, put in your own words and associated it with the exact page from which you obtained it.
So I created this product for my personal use. No speed statistics. No books read a month counter. Just a place where you can read thoughtfully and understand what you learn.
