ContactAPI is an open source API for saving contacts. You send a POST with an email and any JSON fields you want, and they get saved as is. The rest is plain CRUD to list, get, update, and delete. Use a secret key on your backend, or a publishable key in the browser that can only create contacts and is locked to your domains. It also runs an MCP server, so AI clients like Claude can manage your contacts directly.
Hi everyone. I kept building the same save an email endpoint for every side project, so I turned it into a small open source service.
You POST an email plus any JSON you want and it gets saved. Same email updates in place instead of duplicating. There are publishable keys for the browser and secret keys for your backend.
It also has an MCP server, so Claude and Cursor can manage your contacts for you.
Built with Hono, deployed on Vercel, MIT licensed. Would love your feedback on the API and the MCP part.
Finally a contact API that does not try to be a full CRM. Hooked it up in like ten minutes and the publishable key being domain locked is genuinely thoughtful for browser use.
