ColorMix
Free in-browser color tools. Extract, pick, check contrast.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm an animation director who got tired of uploading reference images to
sketchy color picker sites just to extract palettes. So I built ColorMix.
The whole thing runs in the browser — no backend, no upload, no signup.
Your images literally never leave your device.
Things I'm proud of:
• Magnifier lens — Photoshop-style for pixel-precise color picking
• Region selection — drag a rectangle, get the palette for just that area
• EyeDropper API — system-wide color picking from anywhere on your screen
• 50 hand-curated mood palettes for animation/illustration references
• Median-cut quantization runs in <50ms for a 200px image
It's free, no signup, no tracking. Just the auto-placed AdSense ads to
cover the ~$5/mo Vercel bill.
Honest limitations: no gradient generator yet, basic WCAG (no color
blindness sim), and no Figma plugin. All on the list.
Would love feedback from designers and illustrators who have workflow
needs I haven't thought of.

Who hunted ColorMix?
ColorMix was hunted by Justine Theodore Natividad.
