I was inspired to build Cogit Security after seeing how quickly security threats were evolving on Discord, especially scams targeting newer and growing communities. Scams impersonating MrBeast, Steam, Discord Nitro, and other popular services can easily trick members, while many existing security bots focus mainly on traditional moderation and don't address these newer threats.
I wanted to build something focused specifically on modern Discord security. As I continued working on Cogit Security, the idea grew beyond scam detection into protecting communities from leaked tokens and API keys, raids, spam, malicious links, and other threats. The goal is to create a security bot that doesn't just moderate a server, but actively helps protect the people inside it.
