Code Companion turns your phone into a remote control for GitHub Copilot CLI running on your own computer. Start a coding session on your Mac, scan a QR code, and chat, review diffs, manage Git actions, and continue real coding workflows from mobile.
Hi,
I built Code Companion Mobile because I wanted a better way to stay close to real coding work when I’m away from my desk.
Code Companion lets you control GitHub Copilot CLI running on your own Mac from your phone. You start the desktop companion, scan a QR code, and continue the session from mobile. The goal was not to make a “toy chat app,” but to make mobile feel like a serious extension of the actual coding workflow.
With Code Companion, you can:
chat with the agent from your phone
review diffs and workspace changes
inspect ongoing reasoning and tool activity
manage Git actions
reconnect to active sessions without losing context
A big focus for me was keeping the real work on your own computer while making the phone a clean, fast remote surface.
I’d really love feedback on:
the onboarding and pairing flow
which mobile workflows feel most useful
what would make this part of your daily setup
Thanks for checking it out. Happy to answer anything.
