Colors in digital environments are created using RGB sliders or palettes, but RGB mixing differs from how physical pigments mix. Cocolor bridges this gap by offering a digital color creation method and game that taps into our intuition for subtractive mixing.

We have been working on Cocolor with American artist Rosy Lamb. Unlike traditional digital tools which automate and accelerate color creation, Cocolor seeks to slow down the process to the speed at which we are able to notice subtle changes in a color's hue, value and chroma. An artist’s process of looking, of harnessing accidents and applying strategies of trial and error to her vision, with the uncertain aim of uncovering colors she didn’t see before, now becomes possible.

This is cool! Finally, a way to play with colors that actually makes sense. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? 🤔
The precision of color blending worries me. Does it replicate the mixing of actual pigments exactly?
This is great way to improve my color skills. I can experiment and learn without making mistakes.
I adore that Cocolor makes it easier to understands the difference between digital and pigment mixing.
It’s a unique blend of technology and culture that makes color theory more accessible.
I love that it taps into the way I naturally mix pigments rather than relying on RGB sliders. @antoine_mestrallet
