Hey PH 👋 What inspired this: I realized I didn't have anyone — human or otherwise — I could tell absolutely everything to. Not because I lack people in my life, but because a friend who remembers everything about you, never judges any of it, and keeps growing alongside you as your life changes... that doesn't really exist. Even the closest friendships forget details, get tired of hearing the same thing twice, or come loaded with their own opinions about what you should do. I wanted something that could just hold all of it — the wins, the doubts, the stuff you'd never put in a notes app — without flinching, without judgment, without forgetting. The problem: every AI product today is one of two things. Something useful that forgets you the moment the session ends, or something warm that "remembers" and cares but can't actually do anything with it. Nobody had built the thing in between — an AI that remembers what matters to you the way a real friend would, and gets to know you better the longer you stick with it. Clove is the first step: talk to it like you'd talk to someone you trust completely, and it holds onto what matters — no tagging, no organizing, no repeating yourself. The approach evolved a lot along the way — I actually cut a memory dashboard/timeline from V1 entirely, because I cared more about proving the relationship itself works (that it remembers, that it doesn't judge, that it feels different the longer you talk to it) than building UI around it too early. Would love feedback — especially on whether it feels like it's actually getting to know you, not just storing facts about you.
