Cloud cost tools tell you what to cut, then leave the work to you. CloudKnife handles it from A to Z. AI agents learn what every Azure resource is, how it’s really used and what it’s allowed to become. A deterministic core checks every recommendation against hard rules, so your SAP VM only gets SAP-certified options. You approve, CloudKnife executes. Your cloud stays lean and your team gets its time back for innovation.

Jonas here, co-founder and COO of CloudKnife. As an Azure engineer and consultant, I kept seeing the same thing. Cloud bills grow, nobody knows what’s really needed, and the engineers who could fix it are busy building what matters. Now AI spend is going the same way, only faster. So Gilles, Thomas and I built CloudKnife to handle it from A to Z, for both cloud infrastructure and AI. It learns what every resource is and how it’s used. A deterministic core makes sure every recommendation is safe, and once you approve, CloudKnife makes the change. It started as an after-hours project and is now our full-time job. From today, anyone can sign up. What’s the one thing that stops you from acting on a cost recommendation today? We’d love to hear it.

Comment highlights

Cutting cost without touching performance is what every infra team needs!!!!

The deterministic core checking every recommendation is the part I would want to understand first. Most cost tools stop at a suggestion, and the risky part is always the execution — especially when a workload has constraints that are not obvious from usage graphs alone. How does that check work in practice: does it validate the change against the workload rules before anything runs, and what happens when a savings recommendation conflicts with a rule the team set?

Hello hunters 👋

Gilles here, co-founder & CEO of CloudKnife.

We’re almost halfway through launch day and the support has been amazing so far. Thank you for every upvote, comment and share. It means the world to us!

If you’re building on Azure, CloudKnife is free to try. Link it to your Azure environment and surface inefficient configuration in minutes. Questions or need help getting started? Drop a comment or reach out, we’re happy to help. We’d love to hear your feedback.

🙏 The second half of the day decides the leaderboard. If you like what we’re building, give us an upvote and help push CloudKnife to the top.

Keeping approval with the team while handling the execution sounds like a useful balance. Good luck today, Jonas, Gilles and Thomas!

From an after-hours project to a full-time business. Congrats to all three of you! Hope the launch brings some useful conversations.

Keeping workload rules separate from the agent's recommendation makes sense. Being able to see which rule ruled out a cheaper option would make the approval much easier to judge.

the SAP VM only getting SAP-certified options is the detail that got me, every cost tool we tried just says "downsize this" wtih zero context

when CloudKnife makes a change and something breaks a day later, is there a one click rollback or do you revert by hand??? and is AWS coming or Azure only for now???

Who hunted CloudKnife?

CloudKnife was hunted by Jonas D'hollander. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
