Clinch
Break the scroll. One mindful moment per app open.
A ~15s mindful moment between you and Instagram, TikTok, and the apps that pull at you — breath, puzzle, fact, rotated so it never gets stale. Then it asks: what brought you here? Pro ($1.99/mo · $14.99/yr · $39.99 lifetime): unlimited apps, all 6 interceptors, Coach (patterns → one-tap blocks), hard-block scheduler. iOS 17+. No account, no cloud — stays on your phone.
I'm Vedant, and I built Clinch because I was tired of opening Instagram without even realizing I was doing it.
I tried app limits, uninstalling apps, and most of the popular screen-time apps. Reading through Reddit threads, the same complaints kept showing up: people would get used to the same intervention, bypass hard blocks, or simply learn to ignore the friction after a few days.
That made me realize the problem wasn't Instagram itself. It was the urge to open it or say dopamine hit!
Instead of the same screen every time, Clinch rotates between different mindful moments—like a quick breathing exercise, a puzzle, a fact, or a physiological sigh—and then asks one simple question: "What brought you here?"
Over time, Clinch learns your patterns and can suggest blocking your biggest trigger windows automatically.
Everything runs locally on your phone. No accounts, no backend, no data collection.
I also wanted it to be affordable: $1.99/month or $39.99 lifetime.
I'd love your feedback:
Which intervention felt most effective?
Did the reflection step feel useful or annoying?
What would make you stick with a tool like this long-term?
Happy to answer any questions. Thanks for checking it out ❤️
Does it track patterns locally over time so you can see which apps you open on autopilot most?

Clinch was hunted by Vedant Jain. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
