System Settings shows one big "System Data" bar. Clearspace lists what's actually inside it: caches, Xcode DerivedData, simulators, npm/Homebrew downloads, AI models and app files. You review everything, and it only moves to Trash. $10 once, no account.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built Clearspace after my Mac told me "System Data: 87 GB" and gave me no way to find out what that meant. Turns out a lot of it was stuff I'd forgotten about: Xcode DerivedData, old iOS simulators, npm and Homebrew caches, Playwright browsers, Ollama models. It was all spread across hidden Library folders. Clearspace scans those known locations and tells you, in plain language, what each one is: 🟢 Rebuildable: caches your tools will download again if needed 🟡 Review: probably fine to remove, but worth a look first 🔒 Protected: leave it alone (iCloud sync, simulator data, etc.) A few decisions I made on purpose: • Nothing is ever pre-selected. You see the exact path before anything moves. • It only moves to Trash, and cache cleanup is logged so you can restore it. • Sandboxed Mac App Store app. No Full Disk Access, no admin password, no account, no analytics. • $10 once. No subscription. One honest caveat: it won't match Apple's System Data number to the byte, because it scans a catalog of known locations rather than every file. I'd rather tell you that up front than oversell it. I'd love to hear which folder is eating your disk, and what I should add to the catalog next. 🙏
