Hey Product Hunt 👋

I'm Jordi, the solo maker behind Cleanbox.app !

This started out of pure frustration. My inbox was drowning in newsletters I never signed up for, "unsubscribe" links that did nothing, and spam filters that kept blocking the wrong stuff. I'd been paying monthly for a similar tool for years, but the experience felt like a chore. So I started building the version I actually wanted, nights and weekends for two years, then full-time.

What Cleanbox does: it sits between the internet and your inbox. Every incoming email goes through spam scoring, virus scanning, AI classification, and your personal rules before it reaches you. It works with Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, or any IMAP provider, no migration needed.

Here's what's inside:

📧 Email Aliases

Create addresses like [email protected] (or on your own domain) that forward to your real inbox. If one starts getting spammy, disable it with one click. One alias per service = you always know who leaked your address.

🛡️ Relay (SMTP Gateway)

Point your domain's MX records to Cleanbox and every email gets scanned before it reaches your mail server. ClamAV virus scanning, IP blacklist checks (Including: Spamhaus, Barracuda, SpamCop), full Rspamd analysis, all before delivery. As far as I know, no other SaaS in this space offers a full inbound SMTP relay as part of a standard plan. This was the hardest part to build and the one I'm most proud of.

🤖 AI Spam Detection

Not just keyword matching. Cleanbox combines Rspamd's Bayesian classifier with an AI layer that detects brand impersonation, social engineering, and scam structures. Every email gets a plain-language explanation of why it was flagged. You rate messages as spam or not-spam to train it for your inbox, and that feedback improves detection for everyone through crowd-sourced sender reputation.

🔒 Shield

Three per-alias protection layers: a Rate Limiter (cap emails per sender per hour/day/week), a Snoozer (hold emails outside your chosen delivery windows, weekdays only, for example), and a Gatekeeper (whitelist-only mode - only pre-approved senders get through).

📁 Filters

Build your own rules - from simple to advanced.

A few examples from our template library: "Flag invoices from Amazon or PayPal," "Move shipping notifications to a folder," "Block no-reply senders with a spam score above 3," or "Move all newsletters to a folder, except social media." 10 condition types, regex support, nested ANY/ALL logic. Cleanbox ships with 40+ ready-made templates you can enable with one click.

👥 Contacts

Every sender is automatically categorized into one of 20 categories (shopping, finance, social, etc.). Whitelist, prioritize, mute, or block individual senders with one click. One-click newsletter unsubscribe that actually works.

☁️ Cloud

Never lose an attachment again. Cleanbox automatically extracts and stores attachments, organized per sender. Files persist independently of message retention, up to 200 GB on higher plans.

Pricing starts at free. No credit card, no trial expiry. The free plan gives you 3 aliases and 50 emails/week - enough to try it properly. Paid plans start at $5/month (or $3.50/month yearly).

I'd love your honest feedback - especially where you think it falls short or what you'd want that isn't here yet. Happy to answer anything technical too.

Congrats on the Launch, I must say having some problems with keeping up with my mailbox... Tried tools like Spark (for the gate keeping but this did not give met the option to use another client) will give this one a try!! good luck.
