Hi everyone!

My first thought on Skills was that they're basically just wrappers for workflows. But the more I look at it, the real significance is how it empowers regular users to package their own specific expertise for Claude to use again and again.

You don't need to be a seasoned developer. They even have a "skill-creator" skill that guides you through the process. This is about making Claude a specialist for your very specific, niche needs, and making that expertise repeatable.

It makes me think of the old saying about teaching someone to fish. With AI skills, it feels like we're doing the opposite. We don't teach the AI how to fish, we show it a perfectly cooked fish on a plate, and it figures out the steps to get there. We define the "what," and it figures out the "how."

Perhaps the new way to teach an AI a skill is this: to create the path, you must first be able to describe the destination.

Love it! A much needed new primitive for agentic systems. We are fans of everything Claude at Navam and have built all our white label products using Claude Code, so cannot wait to give Claude Skills a spin. In fact as we think about distributing our expertise to our end customers, Claude Skills seems a cleaner way of doing this than our current setup using custom folders with domain specific context.

Really cool. I think 2.0 of this is a system that s also queryable. So not just a flat .md reservoir. But more like a hierarchy. The biggest issue with LLM today is knowing to much. The trick is to know just enough. I think querying would allow the AI to selectively pick what knowledge it would need for a specific task. You dont need the entire company brand guide. When you just want the primary color of a button from the brand guide for instance. The art of intelligence is forgetting smart. Am I right?

According to the demo video, this can have a huge potential for marketing purposes, I like it :)
