Claude for Education revolutionizes learning with AI to guide critical thinking. Partnering with top universities, we're introducing Learning Mode, campus-wide access, and student programs that empower educators and learners to shape AI's future in academia.
The use of AI in schools is both controversial and inevitable. According to my 15 year old, everyone in high school is "cheating with ChatGPT". Their English teacher has resorted to requiring students to write reports only in class and in long-hand, even though phones aren't banned (which creates an obvious loophole).
It's smart for Anthropic to drive a conversation around AI use in academia provide products to equip students and educators alike.
To that end, they've announced Claude for Education, including:
Learning mode: A new Claude experience that guides students' reasoning process rather than providing answers, helping develop critical thinking skills
University-wide Claude availability: Full campus access agreements with Northeastern University, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and Champlain College, making Claude available to all students
Academic partnerships: Joining Internet2 and working with Instructure to embed AI into teaching & learning with Canvas LMS
1. "Claud is a game-changer for education! Its AI-powered features make it easy for students to access and engage with learning.
It's the time for revolutionary education and increasing learning methods. Happy to know the learning mode.
So great to see this! It's something inevitable but still, so controversial. I hope the other major players in the field follow the lead.
When I talk to the people I know who work in high schools, they tell me there is so much hesitation and fear around LLMs. Schools are implementing blanket policies of "no LLMs allowed" because staff are unsure on how to guide students on appropriate and inappropriate use. This is exactly the sort of guidance they need. Nice to Claude's leadership here.
This is where AI shines, especially for students. We all learn different. Having an intimate and personalized learning experience is only going to create better humans. Thank you @Anthropic , @mike_krieger and team for leading charge on this.
Funny enough, I am about to launch ON2Study with a twist. Using Claude and Google Gemini 2.5 Pro APIs
but why this instead of normal claude? and claude limits are too low for code guys, everyone going to gemini 2.5, it can spit millions of tokens and claude i sent it two files and it breaks or asks to restart convo. ya need to level up.
