I was frustrated by how much manual work goes into making a good short-form video.
The idea was simple: why should creating a Reel still require finding footage, cutting clips, syncing voiceovers, adding captions, sound effects, music, and then manually timing everything?
I wanted to treat video more like software — give it a topic or a prompt, and let an engine research the visuals, understand the narration, and generate the entire edit programmatically.
That led me to build an AI Reel Engine on Remotion, where the goal isn't just to generate motion graphics, but to create complete, ready-to-publish videos from an idea.
Basically, I wanted to build the video editor I wished existed.
