Clarify is an open-source docs publishing tool for teams that want modern developer docs without giving up source ownership. It turns MDX, OpenAPI specs, React components, and typed TypeScript config into fast, multilingual, self-hostable static sites with first-class OpenAPI references, native i18n, automatic dark/light themes, flexible theme configuration, responsive layouts across devices, raw content, and llms.txt for AI agents.
We built Clarify because many teams want polished developer documentation, but still want their docs to live with the codebase and deploy on their own infrastructure. Clarify brings MDX authoring, OpenAPI references, typed configuration, static output, internationalization, and AI-readable artifacts into one local-first workflow. We would love feedback from teams publishing product docs, API references, or internal engineering handbooks.
We built Clarify because we couldn’t find an open-source documentation tool that felt both flexible and truly polished. We want to fill that gap for teams that care about source ownership, great developer experience, and modern docs.
Clarify has first-class OpenAPI support — you can reference any API operation directly inside any MDX document, instead of keeping API references isolated from your guides. It also ships with native multilingual docs, automatic dark and light themes, flexible theme configuration, and responsive layouts that adapt cleanly across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
We put a lot of work into the reading experience, component system, and device-friendly UI so open-source projects can ship documentation that feels as polished as the best hosted platforms.
