Clapper
Free take logger for film sets, exports Premiere xml
Clapper is a free take logger you run from your phone on set. Tap to log every take, circle your GOLD selects, and it auto-numbers the camera clips as you shoot. At wrap it exports a Premiere-ready XML, a CSV, and a clean PDF, so the editor gets your log without deciphering handwriting. No install, no account to log takes. It keeps working offline when the set has no signal. Built for script supervisors, ADs, and anyone tired of paper logs that fall apart by the third setup.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I make ads for a living, and on nearly every shoot the take log was a mess. Someone scribbling slate and take numbers on paper that fell apart by wrap, then re-typing all of it for the editor. So I built the thing I kept wishing existed.
Clapper is free. You log takes from your phone on set, circle your GOLD selects, and it numbers the camera clips for you. At wrap it exports a Premiere XML, a CSV, and a clean PDF, so the editor gets a readable log with no handwriting to decode. No install, no account, works offline.
Honest ask: the app is done, but I want to find out if this is a real problem worth solving for people other than me. If you have ever lost a take log or fought a spreadsheet on set, try it and tell me what is missing or what you would never use. I am reading and replying to every comment today.
Thanks for taking a look.
Took it for a spin on a small shoot yesterday and the offline mode actually held up when the set had zero bars. The PDF export came out clean enough that my editor stopped texting me follow up questions, which is the highest praise I can give.
