My coworker bought a $200 mechanical keyboard, so I made my $5 one sound like a shotgun. ClackZilla plays any sound on any keypress — 11 packs, per-key custom mapping, your own clips. System-wide, fully offline, no telemetry. $4.99 once. No subscription.
Hey PH 👋
ClackZilla exists because the guy next to me bought a $200 mechanical keyboard and became the loudest man in the office. I don't complain — I escalate. So I built a tool that plays any sound on any keypress, and now my $5 membrane keyboard racks a shotgun when I hit Enter.
By day 3 he was literally begging (the message is on the landing page). By week 2 the joke had become a real product:
- 11 sound packs — Cherry Blues, creamy thock, typewriter with a real carriage bell, terminal bleeps, bubbles (video-call safe), shotgun (not video-call safe)
- Per-key mapping — spacebar = explosion, backspace = sad trombone, your call
- Bring your own clips — any WAV/MP3 onto any key
- Privacy by architecture: fully offline, no network requests, no account, no telemetry. It knows THAT you typed, never WHAT you typed.
- $2.99, once. A subscription for boom noises would be a war crime.
Windows today, macOS in the works.
Tell me what sound pack to build next — the comments design the roadmap. And yes, there's a Silent pack. For cowards.
