Hey Product Hunt 👋
Every time I picked a movie I ended up with five tabs open: IMDb says 8.1,
Rotten Tomatoes 62% critics / 91% audience, FilmAffinity 6.4… and I still
didn't know if it was worth two hours.
CineRank does that in one search. Type a title and it pulls 7 scores from
6 sites (IMDb, RT critics + audience, Metacritic, FilmAffinity, Letterboxd,
TMDb) and turns them into a single weighted average — weighted by number of
votes, with a confidence penalty so a movie with one 9/10 rating and 40 votes
doesn't outrank a classic with millions.
Then add more titles and compare them side by side: average, every individual
score, runtime, genre, director, country, awards (Oscars/nominations) and
synopsis — as cards or as a sortable table.
A few things I'm happy with:
• Sharable comparisons — /c/movie-a,movie-b opens the exact same comparison
• Server-rendered film pages with JSON-LD, so Google shows the aggregate rating
• "Today's top 5 movies / shows" button for when you have no idea what to watch
• JustWatch link per title to see where to stream it in your country
• Bilingual ES/EN, dark theme, list saved in your browser
• No signup, no account, no ads. Free.
Would love to hear which source you trust most — and which one you think I
should add next.

Who hunted CineRank?
CineRank was hunted by Abraham Calas. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
