Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built CineBrats because I wanted a way to actually see how many of the most important films in cinema history I've seen — and to guide me on how to go deeper. Most film apps are either a social feed or a diary for logging what you watched. CineBrats is different: it's a curated map of the film canon. You rate the films you've seen and get a Cinephilia Score that reflects your real depth, not just your volume. Films are organized into collections by Movement, Auteur, and landmark List — the French New Wave, mumblecore, the all-time greats — and you can set goals to master a collection and track your coverage decade by decade. It's free and non-commercial, and you can start rating films and watch your score climb without even making an account. I'd love to hear what you think — and which collections you want to see next.

Comment highlights

The Cinéphilia Score concept is genuinely cool, and I love that you weight films by importance rather than just counting everything. One thing that would make it even more useful for me: a way to filter out films I've already rated when I'm browsing Collections, so I can see at a glance what's still left to watch without scrolling through everything I've already covered.

The scoring system feels smart, you can tell someone put real thought into which films carry more weight. I liked the decade coverage view too, mine is embarrassingly heavy on the 90s.
