I am incredibly excited to share what we’ve been building with this community today.
The Problem: In South Asia, and particularly in Bangladesh, there is a massive, unspoken mental health crisis among high-performing professionals and founders. Historically, seeking help meant navigating intimidating, crowded psychiatric hospitals, leading many to suffer in silence due to the intense social stigma. Furthermore, the market was flooded with unverified "life coaches," making it impossible to find genuine, clinical care.
The Solution: We built Chum Wellness to completely modernize the infrastructure of mental healthcare in Dhaka. We are a hybrid platform connecting people exclusively with fully licensed, vetted Clinical Psychologists.
We focused on three things:
- Clinical Rigor: We only facilitate evidence-based care (like CBT). No pseudoscience.
- Access: We offer secure, private telehealth sessions globally, alongside a welcoming physical counseling points in different locations in Dhaka for those who need in-person care.
- Zero Stigma: We designed the entire platform experience to feel like booking an executive consultation, not a hospital visit.

Finally a mental health option in Dhaka that doesn't feel clinical or judgmental, the therapist matching was surprisingly quick and the video sessions worked smoothly even on my patchy internet.
Booking through the platform felt surprisingly smooth, and my therapist actually specialized in the exact anxiety issues I mentioned during intake. Really glad something like this exists in Dhaka.
How does matching actually work? Like do I fill out a questionnaire and then get paired with a therapist, or can I browse profiles and pick someone myself based on their specialty?

As someone working in Bangladesh's tech ecosystem, I've seen firsthand how many founders and developers silently struggle with burnout and anxiety but never seek help, partly because they don't even know where to find a real clinical psychologist versus a random "life coach" on Facebook.
The fact that you've built a vetting system for licensed psychologists and offer telehealth is a game-changer. Dhaka traffic alone is enough to stop anyone from going to therapy 😅 removing that barrier is huge.
Two questions:
1. Do you plan to expand services for NRBs (Non-Resident Bangladeshis) who want therapy in Bangla but live abroad?
2. How does your therapist matching work, can clients choose based on specialization like couples therapy vs. corporate burnout?
