Hi everyone! I’m the creator of Chronicle Trading, and this started as a side project for my own trading journey.
I had zero coding knowledge. At first, I asked Claude to help me build an Excel trading journal inspired by the journaling approach shared by trader and YouTuber Rone Trades. But the spreadsheet didn’t feel right for what I needed. I wanted somewhere I could save screenshots, record my trade ideas, and capture what I was thinking and feeling during each trade.
After a lot of questions and experiments, that spreadsheet idea became a simple HTML file. That little file was the beginning of Chronicle.
Over more than two months, it grew into an app with trade journaling, historical backtesting, chart replay, automatic screenshots, analytics, and AI Coach. As I used it and kept building, the goal became clearer: help traders preserve their decisions and learn from them over time.
I know how frustrating it feels to work toward consistency and still repeat the same mistakes. Sometimes, what we need is a clearer view of our own behavior: Which setups do we follow well? When do we break our rules? What conditions suit our strategy? How do our emotions affect our decisions?
That’s what I want Chronicle to help you explore. I believe a useful journal should help you understand what to improve, with enough context to see patterns as your trading history grows.
My approach is to build evidence through practice and review before risking money in the market. Backtesting cannot guarantee future results, but it can help you understand your system and make more informed decisions.
Chronicle was built by a trader who is still learning and understands the struggle firsthand. I’m sharing it because I hope it can be useful to others on the same journey.
