ChromeShip
A free local Studio for modern full-stack Chrome extensions
The local Studio for building Chrome extensions. Managed Chromium, React surfaces, live logs, Supabase backend, and one-click production builds. Develop, debug, and ship Manifest V3 extensions from one visual tool.
Hey Product Hunt,
Last year, I tried building a Chrome extension and abandoned it.
The tooling felt fragmented: boilerplates with mismatched pieces, separate workflows for every surface, constant browser reloads, scattered logs, and too many commands to remember.
I wanted the experience of building a modern web app, but designed specifically for Chrome extensions. So I built ChromeShip.
ChromeShip is a free local Studio that keeps the entire development workflow in one place:
• Create and manage all your extension projects
• Build every Manifest V3 surface with React, Vite, Tailwind, and shadcn
• Run extensions inside managed Chromium
• See logs from popup, side panel, content scripts, options, new tab, and background
• Make changes with protected live reload
• Use a complete local Supabase backend
• Manage permissions, environments, localization, and production builds visually
• Let coding agents work through the built-in MCP server
ChromeShip runs on your machine. The generated project is normal code, and it remains yours.
The complete Studio is free. I also made an optional Stripe + Auth starter for makers who want sign-up, OAuth, checkout, paywalls, subscriptions, and billing already connected.
I’d love to hear what you build with it and what still feels unnecessarily difficult when developing Chrome extensions.
