I created CheckPoint because I was tired of losing momentum in games I genuinely wanted to finish.
As life got busier, gaming sessions became shorter and more spread out. Sometimes days would pass between sessions. Sometimes weeks. I’d come back to a game, load my save file, and immediately face the same problem:
What was I doing?
I wasn’t stuck because the game was difficult. I was stuck because I had forgotten where I was, what my objective was, which side quests I was working on, or why I had stopped in the first place. This was SPECIALLY true for old school games like Zelda Oracle of Ages, old Metroids...
The usual solutions never felt right. Notes apps were too generic. Screenshots got lost in my photo library. Game wikis often spoiled things I hadn’t discovered yet.
So I built CheckPoint.
A simple companion designed for busy gamers who love playing games but don’t always have the time to play regularly. A place to quickly capture what you’re doing, what you’ve discovered, what you want to do next, and anything you don’t want to forget before closing the game.
The goal isn’t to track everything.
It’s to remove the friction of coming back.
Because finishing games shouldn’t depend on having a perfect memory.
