The Problem:
Like many of you, I've spent too much time standing in supermarket aisles, flipping products over, and trying to decode confusing, ultra-long ingredient lists full of chemical names that feel like an alien language. I wanted to eat healthier, but the friction of understanding what was actually inside everyday products was exhausting.
The Solution:
That’s why I built CheckFuud — an AI-powered pocket nutritional assistant. You can snap a photo of any ingredient list or scan a barcode, and the app uses Google Gemini and OCR to instantly break it down into a clear safety score (safe, warning, danger).

honestly this looks super useful, the barcode scanner especially. one thing though, it would be really helpful if you could save products to a personal list or favorites so you don't have to scan the same thing over and over when grocery shopping
honestly the comparator idea is really cool but it would be super useful if it could save your past comparisons somewhere so you can actually look back later. like basically a history tab where you can see what you checked before and revisit the results without having to scan everything again.
The barcode scanner is snappy and the A vs B comparator actually helped me pick between two cereals at the store. Wish the OCR caught smaller ingredient text better, but overall a solid little helper.
Love the instant safety breakdown from a photo, that's genuinely useful when you're rushing through the store. One thing I'd love to see is a way to log products I scan so the app can build a history of what I actually eat over a week or month. That would turn it from a one-off label checker into something that helps spot patterns in my diet.
The barcode scanner works surprisingly fast and the A vs B comparator actually helped me pick between two yogurts at the store. Would love to see a history tab for past scans.
Finally something that just scans the label and tells me what's sketchy without a 20 minute deep dive. Honestly the red/yellow/green breakdown makes it super easy to pick something decent at the store.
