AI Toolbox is the missing layer on top of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok: folders and subfolders, full-text search across every conversation (even all four platforms at once), a prompt library with // insert and multi-step chains, bulk export to Markdown/PDF/JSON, bookmarks, and a live context meter. One install covers all four AIs. Local-first: your chats stay in your browser. Trusted by 40,000+ users in 150+ countries, rated 4.5 stars on the Chrome Web Store.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Adi, one of the two founders of AI Toolbox (bootstrapped, no funding, still just the two of us).
Why we built it:
Two years ago I started this with $32: a cheap VM and the Chrome developer fee. I lived inside ChatGPT all day and kept losing my own work: chats I could not find again, prompts re-typed for the hundredth time, no way to export anything. The platforms kept not shipping the basics. So we built the layer they were missing, and then users kept asking us to bring it everywhere else.
This is actually our third Product Hunt launch, and a lot is new since the last one:
🚀 Grok support: AI Toolbox now runs on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini AND Grok with one install
🔍 Cross-platform search: one query searches your entire history on all four AIs at once
📁 Folders and subfolders, right in the sidebar, with one-click folder export
📚 Prompt library: type // to insert a saved prompt anywhere, chain prompts into multi-step workflows
📤 Bulk export to Markdown (with YAML frontmatter), PDF, JSON, or ZIP a whole folder
🗄️ Artifact Vault on Claude: every artifact and created file, browsable and downloadable in one place
📊 A live context meter so long chats never cut you off mid-thought, with one-click handoff to a fresh chat
What we believe: your AI conversations are your work. They should be organized, searchable, exportable, and yours, no matter which assistant you use this month.
Where we are today: 40,000+ users in 150+ countries, 4.5 stars on the Chrome Web Store, 5-figure MRR, two people, $45/month of infrastructure. Almost every feature came from a user request; the support inbox is our roadmap.
Privacy: local-first by design. Search and export run entirely in your browser, and your conversations are never sent to our servers.

We'd love your feedback on:
- which feature you'd use first
- what the AI platforms still refuse to build that we should ship next
- anything that feels confusing in your first five minutes
I'll be here all day answering everything. Thanks for checking us out! 🙏

Love it that you can search across all my ai tools. I use Claude, Gemini and Chatgpt. This tools let me search across all three. And I can even continue my chat in another platform. For example I start a chat in Claude. Then I want to continue it in Chatgpt. Then I press just one button and it summarizes my chat and carries is into a new chat in Chatgpt. Lovely.
the local-first caching makes sense for privacy, but curious how brittle it is - ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini all change their DOM structure pretty often. when one of them ships a UI update, does the extension quietly break for that platform until you push a patch, or is the scraping resilient to that by design?
Congrats on the launch! It's always great seeing how people innovate around existing solutions and create new user value on top 👏 btw, I'm curious to hear if after seeing people actually use AI Toolbox, was there any user behavior or use case that genuinely surprised you? Maybe something you didn’t originally build the product for, but users ended up doing anyway? these kind of unexpected behaviors often reveal interesting product opportunities and worth keeping an eye on.
Been using this tool for the past year, one of the best additions to my workflow, I can never go back to working without it 😅
I've been juggling ChatGPT and Claude for months and losing old chats was driving me nuts. The cross-platform search alone would fix that. Trying this today 🙌
Just curious, if a native mobile companion, even just for search/export, is on the roadmap.
Congrats on the launch, Adi!
I like the Folders feature, surprised this isn’t built into the AI platforms already.
