Hi Product Hunt, I am Nadav, one half of Codama. Chatcove is the first thing we have built for ourselves rather than for a client. The problem is boring and real. Your WhatsApp history is one of the most personal archives you own, and it is locked inside an encrypted iPhone backup. The moment you actually need it, whether you are switching phones, keeping a conversation with someone, or needing a record of something, getting it out is genuinely hard. The tools that solve this either moved to a yearly subscription, or they are websites that ask you to upload your private conversations to someone else's server. So Chatcove is deliberately the opposite of both: - It runs entirely on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no upload. There is no server, which is also why there is no subscription needed to pay for one. The licence check is an offline signature, so you can unplug your network and everything still works. - It costs $9 once, for two Macs. - Browsing is completely free. You can plug in your iPhone, let it make the encrypted backup, and read your entire history with every photo and voice note, without paying anything. You only pay when you want to export, and even then the trial exports one full chat so you can see exactly what you get first. Three things I would rather flag myself than have you find: - It is Apple Silicon only right now. - It is macOS only. Windows is the obvious next step if people want it. - It is closed source. Fair criticism, and I would consider opening the reader. One detail I am quietly proud of: it renders right-to-left languages correctly, in the app and in the exported file. If you have ever exported a right-to-left conversation from any other tool, you will know why that is worth mentioning. I would love feedback, especially on the backup flow, which is the part that has to work on a stranger's machine and is the hardest to get right. https://chatcove.app
