ChargingAtlas puts the US Department of Energy's NREL public-charging station data - every public charger, network, and connector - onto one fast map. Search a city or use the near-me view. No app, no account. 74,890 stations, 4,334 city pages, one source: DOE/NREL. To be clear: it maps public DOE data - it's not a charging network and doesn't handle payments or live availability like PlugShare or ABRP. It also has an MCP endpoint (chargingatlas.com/mcp) so an AI assistant can query the data.
Hey PH, Tamas here, solo maker. ChargingAtlas came from wanting a quick, no-login map of where I can actually charge - without a charging-network app trying to sign me up. So I took the US DOE's NREL public-charging dataset (74,890 stations) and put it on one clean map, one page per city, source shown. To set expectations: it maps public DOE data - it's not a charging network and doesn't do payments or live 'is it working right now' availability like PlugShare/ABRP. I also just added an MCP endpoint (chargingatlas.com/mcp) so an AI assistant can query the charging data directly. Two things I'd love feedback on: (1) is a clean static map of public data useful next to the live-status apps, or do you only want real-time? (2) would the MCP endpoint be something you'd actually wire into an assistant? Thanks for looking.
