ChacharApp is a free, open-source voice dictation app for macOS — a private, on-device alternative to Wispr Flow. Hold a key, speak, and your words appear in any app. Everything runs locally on the Apple Neural Engine (in every Mac since the M1, 2020), so your voice and conversations never leave your device: no cloud, no tracking, no accounts, no weekly limits. With no network round-trip it stays fast, and you can enrich it with your own custom vocabulary — jargon, names, technical terms.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Juan, a solo developer from Spain. I loved using Wispr Flow — it genuinely changed how I work — but two things bugged me: everything I dictate goes to the cloud, and the free tier cut me off with a weekly limit. Voice is personal, and I wasn't comfortable sending all of it to someone else's servers. So I built ChacharApp: the same hold-a-key-and-talk experience, but 100% on your Mac. It uses the Apple Neural Engine that every Mac has had since the M1 (2020) to transcribe locally — nothing leaves your device, nothing is tracked, no accounts, no limits. And with no network round-trip, latency stays low. On top of that you can add your own custom vocabulary — technical jargon, names, product terms — so it gets your words right. It's also tuned for accented English and Spanish↔English code-switching, because that's how I actually talk. It's free and open source (MIT). I'd love your feedback — what would make it your daily driver?
