Enabling designers, creators, and founders to plan visual projects on an AI canvas. Key features: - Ask the AI to organise your ideas, brainstorm new directions, or create a roadmap from scratch - MCP connections so you can handoff your project to an external agent to turn into something real - Your images, inspiration, and notes all on a canvas with a native agent. - Create custom widgets - ask your agent to create a habit tracker on the canvas
I’ve always used Notion to organize my ideas, but as a creative who thinks spatially, forcing everything into page felt fundamentally restrictive. Text-first documents couldn't capture visual inspiration, dynamic relationships, or the true scale of early-stage thinking. I needed a workspace that allowed ideas to breathe, so I set out to build an infinite canvas engineered specifically for creatives who need more space to store, connect, and plan their vision.
What makes Causal different from other canvas apps:
- Multimodal Spatial Context: The integrated AI understands your entire workspace: comprehending how visual assets, files, and notes. It understands how each element is placed relative to others.
- Generative Canvas: The AI actively creates and arrange files, notes, and images directly onto the board which ensure it works alongside as you as a true creative partner.
- MCP Connection: Once you have completed mapping out your project, hand it off to an external agent to turn into something real. Your content and their relative positioning is sent of as context so it remains easy to read
- Create custom widget: need a habit tracker? a bar chart or an interactive game? Create it all on your canvas!
- Distraction-Free Experience: A clean, minimal UI stripped of enterprise clutter, focusing entirely on the essential tools creatives need to do what they do best - create.
Teaching an AI to act as a spatial partner has been our most complex engineering hurdle. Standard language models do not natively understand layout through spatial coordinates. To solve this, we’ve been training our agentic assistant on relative positioning which enables it understand relations just as the human brain does.
Congrats on Launch! Curious can we integrate with Figma or anything like that?
The spatial context claim is the one I'd poke at. On our side the hard part was never generating the thing, it's that the model has no idea what the user already put next to it, so it keeps producing standalone output that doesn't belong on the board. If relative positioning actually survives the MCP handoff you've solved something most agent tools quietly skip. The custom widget bit reads like a demo feature to me, happy to be wrong.
Nice - the zoom/pan/nav with the trackpad is clean and works well. This reminds me of mind mapping tools, and I can see the value for people who are more visual. Could also be useful for those trying to remember information or build out their own knowledgebase. Nice work
over MCP u send the layout positions along w the content. does the agent on the other side use that or just flatten it into a list
I like the look of this... I'm a fan of Miro because it allows me to be messy and get everything into one place, but I really like the idea that structure can be added. It seems like a genuinely useful tool to capture creative thought and then add structure before sharing.
This looks genuinely useful — especially the ability to turn a messy canvas into something structured with AI. Curious to see how the MCP connections work in practice. Congrats on the launch!

Who hunted Causal?
Causal was hunted by Rameen Sharif. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
