Snap the fish and CastLog identifies the species, estimates weight and length, and logs the spot, weather and conditions — instantly. Plus an AI trip planner that picks the bait, tackle and best bite windows. The AI fishing log, catch journal and planner for US & UK anglers.
Hi Product Hunt 👋 I fish, and I was sick of logging catches in a notes app in the rain. CastLog does it in three taps: photo → AI names the species (and estimates weight/length from the photo alone) → logged with location, weather, pressure and moon phase attached automatically. It knows 500k+ named waters across the US and UK, plans trips from your log + the live forecast, and works offline at the bank. Free to download with 5 AI IDs included — would love to hear what fellow anglers think.
Snapped a photo of a bass and it nailed the species plus gave a believable weight estimate within seconds. The bite window suggestions for my local spot were surprisingly spot on.
Took it out on a quick session and the species ID was spot on from a blurry phone shot. Weight estimate felt close to what I usually guesstimate too. Would love to see lure recommendations get more region-specific.
A buddy of mine fishes a ton on the Great Lakes and he's always complaining about ice fishing support being basically nonexistent in apps like this. Would love to see a cold weather mode in CastLog that tracks hole depth, ice thickness, and under-ice sonar readings. Could be a real differentiator since half his season happens on frozen water.

Who hunted CastLog?
CastLog was hunted by Anthony Jackson. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
