I built Cardo after watching tourists in a seaside town in Turkey pick up a paper menu, squint at dishes they couldn't read, and quietly put it back down. Great food — lost because of a menu.
Existing QR menus didn't really help. They were either ugly PDFs, or dashboards where you had to type every single dish by hand, and almost always in one language. So I wanted two things to be true:
1. Setup should take minutes, not an afternoon. With Cardo you just snap a photo of your paper menu and AI pulls out the items, prices and categories.
2. The menu should speak the guest's language. Cardo opens automatically in the visitor's phone language (TR/EN/DE/RU/FR), with AI translations and short "what's this?" notes for local dishes.
