I built Capsule because I kept buying journals and never using them. The blank page always felt like homework, and after a few days I would just stop.
So I made the simplest rule possible: one thought per day. That's it. No word count, no prompts, no pressure. Just open the app, write one sentence about your day, pick your mood, and you're done in seconds.
Over time, your mood calendar fills up and you start seeing patterns in how you actually feel. Not how you think you feel, but what your days really looked like across weeks and months. The heatmap makes it visual and honestly kind of beautiful.
I also added context cards so you can tag emotions, weather, meals, people and more. It makes each entry richer without adding friction.
It is completely free. No subscription, no paywall, no hidden tiers. Just a simple app I wish existed when I started trying to journal.
