I never found a bookmark manager I could stick with. They all hang off a browser extension that breaks on update, only works in one browser, and cannot touch anything outside a tab.
Capd captures natively instead. Press Control Option C anywhere, drag to the menu bar or the notch, use the share sheet, or run the CLI. Pages, text, notes, and images all work.
Then it searches what is inside them, including article text and text in screenshots. Not just titles.
Everything stays in a local SQLite database. No account, no subscription, no telemetry. Free and MIT licensed, macOS 26 or later.
