Hey Product Hunt 👋 I shipped Canopy — something I've been quietly building on nights and weekends. It's an IDE, but made for how I actually work now, which is mostly telling agents what to do and then reviewing what they did. Every fork of VSCode/Electron is heavy and built around traditional engineering — but the agentic era changed how I build. My days became a mess of tabs: a different agent running each task, me trying to figure out which PR got pushed and which got left behind, then reviewing and merging. Every time I switched projects my whole mental context went with it. And I was reviewing all of it in a browser tab, nowhere near the actual code. My editor felt built for a version of me that types every line by hand — and that guy has mostly retired. So I built Canopy for the version that's here now: - Agents are first-class — launch Claude Code, Codex, Amp, Aider, Gemini, opencode or a plain shell, each in its own native tab, cd'd into your project. - One window, the whole stack — define your project by component, run every dev server natively, and see what's live at a glance. - Shared context — agents get a short summary of what the other agents touched, so you stop spinning up a third one just to ferry context. - Git without leaving — side-by-side diffs, staging, worktrees, and a "loose ends" panel so no commit an agent wrote quietly disappears. - Native to the core — Rust core, Tauri shell (no Electron), ~120MB idle. Local-first: no account, no telemetry, your keys never leave the machine. It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux. MIT licensed and free.
