You pick the apps that pull you away (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), choose the parts of your day you want back (work, dinner, bedtime) and Calma rests those apps during those times, using Apple's Screen Time.
A few choices we made on purpose:
- A pause, not a lockout. Screen Time's "Ignore Limit" is one tap away, and hard blockers can feel like punishment. Calma sits in between: iOS enforces the block, and you can still end a focus session with a 3-second hold.
- No streaks, scores or guilt messages. A blocked app just shows "Instagram is resting." with one "Back to calm" button.
- No account and no ads. Your rules stay on your iPhone, and Calma cannot see what you do inside apps.
- A rule reads like a sentence: "Block 5 apps on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM." Tap any word to change it.
Honest limits: iPhone only for now, it blocks apps (not websites), and it is a subscription after a 3-day free trial.
