Hey Product Hunt! I built CalcByEA as satire on the video game industry's microtransaction model — specifically EA Games, who pioneered the practice of charging extra for things that used to come included in the base game.
In 2006, EA released a $2 horse armor DLC. By 2021, FIFA Ultimate Team generated $1.6B/year from digital card packs. I just applied the same logic to something universally free: a calculator.
The uncomfortable part? It works. People are actually buying packs — 4.2M+ operations executed, $12,860 spent.
