I’m really excited to share Cadence Chords with you today.
As a guitarist, I always found ear training apps a bit disconnected from how I actually learn music. Most of them rely on isolated piano notes or repetitive exercises, while I wanted to train my ear using songs I already know and enjoy.
That’s why I built Cadence Chords.
The idea is simple:
* Connect your Spotify account.
* Pick one of your playlists.
* Listen to a song and try to identify its root note by ear.
Because you’re practicing with familiar music, the exercises feel much more natural and engaging than traditional ear training.

Love this idea since it uses music I already listen to. One thing that would help me a lot is letting me slow down or loop a short section of the track before guessing the root, because in faster songs it's tough to lock onto the tonal center on a single play.
Pulling songs from my own Spotify and guessing the key is way more fun than drilling random intervals. Caught me on a couple of tracks I was sure I knew, so it actually pushes you to listen closer.
Love that you pulled this off using tracks people already have in their playlists. Building ear training around music you actually listen to is such a clever hook, makes the whole practice feel personal instead of like a textbook drill.
