I kept opening the fridge at 6pm with no clue what to make or couldn't figure out what to cook for the week, so I built this. Tell Cache & Cook what you've got and how much time you have, and it writes you a real recipe. Save the ones you like and they stay organized in a pantry. Free to start, no card.

hey PH, I'm Tyler I made Cache & Cook because I was tired of standing in front of my fridge at 6pm with no idea what to make or constantly trying to think of things to make for the week. So I would cook the same thing over and over again, or I'd just go get fast food. Variety is what I craved. ChatGPT is only useful for general recipes and it always adds its reasoning before the actual recipe. I wanted something simpler, honestly kind of dumber: I tell it what I have, it tells me what I can make right now. I can save the recipes I liked and add them to cookbooks. So that's the app. You type what you've got and how much time you have, like "chicken, 30 min, one pot," and it gives you a few options to pick from. Or you can tell it what cuisine you like and it'll produce recipes from that cuisine. When one looks good you save it, and it lands in your pantry as a clean recipe card you can actually find again later. You can also paste in recipes you already love and it'll tidy them up the same way. It's free to start, 5 recipes a day, no card. Pro is $10/mo if you cook a lot and want more room. If you're coming from Product Hunt, PRODUCTHUNT gets you 50% off Pro for the first month so you can see all that it offers. Two things I'd really like your honest take on: - would you actually cook a recipe an app wrote for you? if not, what would change that? - if anything in here feels like arguing with a chatbot, tell me. that's the exact thing I'm trying to avoid. I'll be around all day. You can critique the app openly and freely. Feedback is always good.
