Hey 👋 I'm Han — solo builder of Burn AI. I kept losing 30+ minutes a day to a tiny problem: I'd walk away from my laptop thinking Claude Code was "working", come back to find it stuck waiting for permission 22 minutes ago, or worse — it had been burning tokens the whole time and racked up $14 I didn't notice. So I built a 3.4MB SwiftBar plugin that sits in my menu bar and tells me, at a glance, the truth: 🔥 what the agent is doing right now (RUNNING / WAITING / IDLE / RAW) 💸 the USD so far for this session 🕐 how long it's been silent It's 100% local. No Electron. No cloud. No telemetry. It just reads the JSONL traces your agent already writes (Claude Code, Codex, Aider), parses them, and draws a label. Native macOS, MIT-licensed. What I'd love feedback on: 1. The cost display — should it show the running total only, or per-task breakdown? Right now it's session-level, which I find useful but a few testers wanted per-task. 2. The RAW state color — currently green (it's a healthy "agent is producing tokens" signal), but several people expected green to mean "done". Naming is hard. 3. Auto-show on state change — I'm on the fence. It pops the menu open when a long-running task starts, but some find it intrusive. GitHub: https://github.com/hanzhangzzz/b... Thanks for the launch — would love to hear what you build on top of the Agent Trace protocol, or what other "blind spots" you have with coding agents I should add next. 🙌

Who hunted Burn AI?

Burn AI was hunted by Huajuan. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
