Build Emma is a desktop coding workspace with EMMA, a resident AI agent that runs on your own models via Ollama. She reads the project, makes the change, runs the tests against it, then stops. You review the diff change by change, and nothing lands until you approve it. It's a real editor with a terminal and language support, and two laptops on the same wifi can code together with no server in the middle. No account, no telemetry, works offline.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built Build Emma because I wanted an AI coding tool that works on my own machine, with my own models, and never touches my code without asking. EMMA is the agent inside it. Give her a task and she reads the project, makes the change, and runs the tests before you see anything. Then she stops. You read the diff, untick what you don't want, and only what you approve lands. A few things I cared about: • Local-first: runs on Ollama, no account, no telemetry, works offline. Claude and GPT are optional. • Build together: two laptops on the same wifi can pair up live, with no server in the middle. • Tested hard: 650 automated tests, plus scripts that click through the real app. It's on Linux and Windows, with macOS to follow. I'd love to hear what you'd build with it, and what would make you switch.
