I built BrowserPair around a problem I kept running into while working with AI agents: they can reason, write code, and use tools, but interacting with the browser you're actually using is still surprisingly complicated.
Most browser automation solutions either launch a separate browser session, require complicated setups, or give agents more control than I'm comfortable with.
I wanted something different.
What if ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI agents could work directly in your existing Chrome browser, using the sessions you're already signed into, while keeping you in control?
That's the idea behind BrowserPair.
Here's what I've focused on building:
-Your existing Chrome browser: No need to recreate your browsing environment or repeatedly sign into websites. - AI agent integrations: Connect ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible AI tools to your browser. - Bring Your Own Key (BYOK): Use your own AI provider API key to interact with your browser through a dedicated chat interface. - Scoped permissions: Control which websites and actions an agent can access. - Human approval: Keep sensitive actions behind explicit confirmation. - Verifiable actions: Track execution results and avoid blindly repeating actions when the outcome is uncertain.
One of the biggest challenges wasn't simply making AI click buttons. It was designing a system where authority, approval, execution, and recovery are handled separately.
BrowserPair is my attempt to make browser-based AI agents more practical without treating unrestricted access as the default.
There's still plenty to improve, and I'd love feedback from people building or using AI agents.
I'm especially curious about two things:
1. What's your biggest frustration with current AI browser automation tools? 2. Would you rather connect your existing AI assistant to your browser or use a dedicated AI-powered browser?
