I used to take regular breaks while working, but somehow I came back more tired.
I thought I was resting, but really I was just scrolling on instagram, twitter, and back to the grind.
Then I started experimenting with “real” 5-minute breaks; a breath, some movement, a quiet moment. And surprisingly, I returned clearer.
That’s what led me to build Breaktime Buddy. A simple tool to guide intentional micro-breaks, based on how you feel and help you return to work refreshed, not drained.
It’s for anyone who's mentally overloaded but still trying to show up and do good work.

Congrats on the launch. Great idea to create an app to help remote workers take breaks and relax. I downloaded the app and answered the onboarding questionnaire. A few pieces of feedback from the user POV:
- I’d suggest coming up with a different design for single and multiple choice questions, or add a phrase like “select all that apply.”
- The answer comes pre-selected, and the questions are similar. It makes one think “haven’t I answered this just now?”
- The paywall: Seeing only the 3-day trial and the expensive subscription price makes you think of those scammy quizzes that loads of health and fitness apps use on social media. Will the remote workers see the benefit in three days? Someone who has issues with taking breaks may even forget about the app and miss the chance to try it. I’d consider a week of free trial. If making this trial free isn’t feasible, then ask for a really low amount for the week, like “90% discount on your first week, then XXX per year”
