Hi Product Hunt! I’m Cameron, the founder of Boring.
I built Boring because I was tired of the news being loud, repetitive, and hard to trust. Between the 24/7 news cycle, media bubbles, and AI-generated misinformation, staying informed started to feel like a job in itself.
I wanted something simpler: give me the facts, give me the context, and let me get on with my day.
I grew up believing that the best way to understand the truth is to hear different perspectives, separate the facts from the spin, and let the evidence speak for itself. That’s the idea behind Boring: bring together coverage from across the political spectrum, focus on what the evidence supports, and give people the context to draw their own conclusions.
Here’s how it works:
Every morning, Boring scans 100+ news outlets across the political spectrum and identifies the stories covered by the most outlets. AI retells each story in plain English, then a separate fact-checking step removes claims it can’t match to a source. Every fact links back to its reporting sources, and each story shows how left- and right-leaning outlets covered it.
The result? Around 10 stories a day. No endless feed, no ads, no tracking cookies. Just the news, with the context to make sense of it.
