In short, Bookselects is a directory where you can find book recommendations from the most notable people across different fields, and filter results to match your interests.
The internet is full of places to find book recommendations, but there wasn’t a place where you could explore recommendations by the most successful people in different fields, all within a clean and intuitive interface, with smart filtering tailored to your interests. ✨
Bookselects makes it easy to find, for example, “The most recommended fiction books by authors” or “The most recommended investing books by venture capitalists.” You can even combine different categories — it’s all up to you.

Next planned steps:
• Adding more people and recommendations (Of course! Who are we missing? 🤔)
• Implementing more complex filtering features.
• Building a community of contributors.
• Upvote system — so we can open it up for everyone to create their own lists, but still give more weight to the most upvoted people (We all know that, in general, Bill Gates’ recommendations are worth more than mine or yours!).
• Adding more data to the book and people pages (What are we missing?).
• AI to understand your interests/goals and the way you think, to give you the perfect next read based on recommendations by people similar to you.

I encountered a minor issue while trying to filter by categories. it seems a bit slow at times.

This site is legit a 1:1 copy of a project I built and sold a few years ago, goodbooks.io. You even scraped the same data and people. 🤡

looks great, I think you can go a step further and use AI to generate new books that reflect user interests.
There may be fewer people who directly read original books now. Using AI to summarize books and generate new books should be the future direction.
