Before getting into tech, I spent years working shifts as a waiter in restaurants across Austria. If there’s one thing floor work taught me, it’s this: during a Friday night rush, when tickets pile up, the phone is ringing off the hook, and walk-ins are queuing at the door, nobody cares about analytics dashboards, feature bloat, or 20-step onboarding flows. All that matters is taking care of guests and keeping service moving. Most reservation platforms started with good intentions, but over time became ridiculously bloated. They try to do everything, charge heavy commissions, and end up creating more friction for the people actually working the floor. We built bookete.com to do the exact opposite: dead-simple table management with absolute minimum effort needed, built specifically for small-to-midsize restaurants that just want their bookings handled without a headache. What we focused on: Zero training manuals. Staff get the hang of it in under two minutes. Fast, clean booking flow without third-party portals or forced account setups. Only what’s strictly necessary: seating guests, eliminating double-bookings, and keeping the shift running smoothly. Tools are only helpful as long as they support in the simplest way possible to make the team focus on serving their guests the best way possible.
