Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Book of the Day because I kept hitting the same wall: every "what should
I read next" answer was either an algorithmic list of whatever's selling, or an ad
wearing a review's clothes. I wanted one book a day, picked by a human, with a
review that actually says who the book is for.
That's the whole thing. One handpicked book, every day, since January 2025. It's
453 reviews deep now, across 358 authors.
What I didn't plan for was what readers asked for next. "I finished this, what's
like it?" turned into read-alike guides. "Is there an audiobook, and who narrates
it?" turned into 332 audiobook pages with narrator and format details. Book clubs
wanted shelves, so there are curated collections for short reads, debut novels,
hidden gems, and page-to-screen adaptations.
It's free, there's an RSS feed and a newsletter if you just want the daily pick in
your inbox, and authors can submit a book at no cost. I read every submission and
judge it on the same criteria as anything else.
Two things I'd genuinely like from you: tell me what you're reading right now, and
tell me where you think a review gets it wrong. That's more useful to me than
"nice site."
